Sunrays have caught more fish than perhaps any other modern fly. Originating from the Norwegian Laerdal river and Ray Brooks, where Mikael used to ghillie, it has revolutionised the fly tradition in many ways. This soft swimming version, tied on a TTT, maintains the same colours – the striking black and white contrast – but with ostrich hackles forming a modern soft drop form. It swims beautifully. When you see the white and black ostrich fibers mix and move, it’s easy to understand why this is such an effective pattern. And like all Samurais, it’s designed to be fished fast!
