The Spruce Moth can be a mandatory pattern to have when conditions are right and spruce moths get blown onto the river. Heading to Montana or Yellowstone country in mid to late summer, the Spruce Moth should be in your box. The Spruce Moth may not be good for the trees, but the trout love them. Fish them on the dead drift and try a twitch or even skate them on the surface.
